Neal Spero
Vice President and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Commercial Product Sales
 
Neal Spero joined Presbyterian Health Plan in 2009 and is originally from Arizona where he graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Mathematics. He started his career as a sales executive and assistant actuary for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Arizona and went on to hold actuarial and marketing/sales leadership positions with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Utah, Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa, and United Healthcare of the Midwest and shows a proven track record of success.
 
Prior to coming to Presbyterian, he held several leadership positions with American Community in Michigan including Sr. Vice President responsible for the profit and loss of the Individual market segment. He oversaw the sales, underwriting, product development, marketing, administration and actuarial functions and was promoted to Sr. Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer with additional responsibilities in the small and large group lines of business.
Mary Eden
Vice President, Government Programs
 
Mary Eden is the Vice President for Government Programs
for Presbyterian Health Plan. She has been employed
by Presbyterian Health Plan since 1992 in a variety of
roles and has been accountable for Medicaid programs
since 1998.

Ms. Eden has extensive knowledge of the unique
attributes of government programs’ operations and
regulations, and was instrumental in the implementation
of New Mexico’s SALUD! managed care program in
1997 and led implementation efforts for the modernized
Centennial Care program in 2013.

As Vice President of Government Programs, Ms. Eden
oversees Medicaid and Medicare operations. She is as an
appointed member of the Medicaid Advisory Committee
representing all the managed care organizations for
the state’s managed Medicaid program, Centennial
Care; a board member of Safer New Mexico Now; and
a member of the Women’s Cabinet for the New Mexico
Lung Association.
Marcia K. Hladilek, M.P.H
Director, Performance Improvement
 
Marcia K. Hladilek joined Presbyterian Health Plan in February 2014. Marcia has more than 30 years of successful program start-up and leadership experience.
 
Marcia is responsible for quality program compliance for all Presbyterian product lines. She oversees PHP’s National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) accreditation program, HEDIS and Medicare Star performance measurement reporting and improvement, quality of care reviews, and contract management for Patient Centered Medical Homes.  
 
Ms. Hladilek earned a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Family Life from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. In addition, she received a Masters Certificate in Project Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Business.
MIchelle DuVal, MA
Director, The Mindful Center
 
MIchelle DuVal is the current director and lead instructor of The Mindful Center. She is also the director and lead instructor for the mindfulness programs at the University of New Mexico Center for Life, the Presbyterian Healthplex, the New Mexico Heart Institute and Evolutions Family Counseling in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
 
She has been a featured speaker at numerous conventions, including the Presbyterian Medical/ Surgical symposium, the SIMPLE conference, the National Association of Social Workers convention, the OSLER symposium, and she is the leader of the meditation workshops for the Cancer Services of New Mexico bi-annual retreats as well as for the cardiac rehab programs at Presbyterian Healthplex. 
 
In addition to Michelle’s current programs of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindful Eating, and Hearts and Minds, she also brings mindfulness trainings into work environments through her Mindfulness Based Workplace Workshops, programs and retreats.
