Conference Description
This conference is designed for all healthcare providers caring for the acutely critically ill adult.  Many topics will be discussed:  renal injury, atrial fibrillation, TAVR, ARDS, Hypertension and esophageal emergencies.  The focus of each is a review of clinical data as well as the team approach to care and outcome criteria.
This conference prepares the learner to:
  • Discuss the genesis of renal injury in the acute care setting with prevention strategies and treatment formulas.
  • List and discuss various methods of treatment of atrial fibrillation.
  • Discuss the newest outcome information regarding the treatment of aortic stenosis with TAVR.
  • Plan the care of the patient with severe ARDS.
  • Discuss the new recommendations of JNC 8 regarding the treatment of adult hypertension.
  • Define and discuss the treatment of esophageal emergencies.
